A. Keeping your fire extinguishers properly serviced can be vital in saving lives and property. And, it’s the law! The Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) as well as state and local laws and ordinances require employers to have fire extinguishers operational and regularly inspected.
A. The most common types of extinguishers (ABC) are kept in stock on the mobile service units and can be sold to you while the technician is at your location. Other types of extinguishers may need to be ordered.

A. For those customers on especially tight budgets, Fire Protection ORUZ has refurbished units, if available, for sale on a first-come, first-served basis.
A. There are 4 types of fire:
1. Class A relates to combustible materials like paper and wood.
2. Class B relates to flammable liquids such as gas or grease.
3. Class C relates to electrical-specific risks.
4. Class D relates to combustible metals.
A. Most fire extinguishers are made from steel, which is a recyclable material. If the extinguisher is empty, squeeze the trigger handle to verify that the cylinder is not holding any pressure. Then remove the valve. When this is completed, take the cylinder to a recycling center that processes steel. However, if your extinguisher is partially or completely full, you can have your local fire company discharge the extinguisher for you in a safe manner. Then, remove the top and can take it to a recycling facility. A fire company may even handle the recycling for you.
If it becomes necessary to replace your fire extinguisher, you are not permitted under the law to simply throw it away. Fire extinguishers are designated as hazardous material and need to be disposed of properly.
